“We’ve got higher caliber, but we’re even more consistent and more solid,” said Pellegrini.
“It is good to win, especially against Manchester United here in the home and keep a clean sheet. We attempted to acquire from the beginning.
“We didn’t permit them to create opportunities and Andriy’s purpose was the vital element to open the match. It was a fantastic goal.”

Two weeks must have levelled for the visitors after the restart however, failed to reach the target after linking with the cross of Andreas Pereira.
After making nine changes for its midweek Europa League victory over Astana, Solskjaer fielded the exact same team that beat Leicester in Old Trafford.
Nemanja Matic and Rashford have been the sole survivors from Thursday’s triumph, with teenage striker Mason Greenwood – the match-winner against the Kazakh side of United – to tonsillitis.

Matic’s long-range driveway, which was held by Lukas Fabianski, had been the closest they came to your goal in a first half.
The visitors should have restored parity if Mata got at the conclusion of the delivery of Pereira and improved from the second, but the midfielder somehow managed to steer the ball wide out of point-blank range.
Harry Maguire also went close to bringing the traffic flat before the next target, firing at Fabianski of West Ham after the Hammers had failed to clear a corner.
Manchester United’s poor away form is extended by the defeat – his league victory in their journeys came in Crystal Palace on 27 February.
Pellegrini’s charges were bottom of the table after four games this year, but Sunday’s outcome lifts these three points over the side from the standings of Solskjaer – a hint of their advancement under the mid century’s stewardship.
The Hammers have now kept four successive clean sheets in all competitions, whilst fit-again Yarmolenko and summer signing Sebastien Haller have demonstrated promise up front.
Yarmolenko has been a constant menace, registering longer shots and breaking the deadlock with a finish.
The Allied setup West Ham’s next midway through the second half, however, Felipe Anderson – that suffered a disappointing afternoon – fired at p Gea from a tight angle.
The match remained until the 84th minute, when Cresswell’s sublime free-kick – his first goal since April 2018 – sealed the points.
The effect moves the group level on issues using third-place Leicester of Pellegrini.
West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini, talking to BBC Sport:”The worldwide break was important for us because we had all the defenders and worked much to be concentrated, to make better tackles and better movements.
“I think we must attempt to beat Bournemouth 1-0 within our next league game and see what happens. We’re not considering the future”
Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to BBC Sport:”I am very frustrated. You are always disappointed when you lose games. This is a match which we might have won. Going home tonight we’ll go through the game. At the moment we’re just very flat.
“Essential moments went against us. They had some wonderful finishes. We didn’t possess the quality when we had those big moments. At the Premier League if you don’t accept them you wont get any points. It tipped in their favor and we have to accept that.
“I am disappointed we did not win now, but apart from that I am being very positive. I have stated many times that there’ll be highs and lows. We’ve had some highs along the way, today we just have to accept we got no issues and look ahead to next week.”
